    Hi Catherine, You asked about a technique I had used for some book covers on my blog. Bit tricky to explain in an email but you can find something similar in Pam Watts' book "A beginners Guide to Machine Embroidery" - her densly stitched fabric. It's basically lots of scraps of fabric with lots of heavy machine stitching in lovely threads. I like your boxes by the way... beautiful!
